Why Your Moisturizer Should Include Vitamin C

Why Your Moisturizer Should Include Vitamin C

Today we’re talking Vitamin C! “The Vitamin C I get from oranges?” Yup! That Vitamin C — the same Vitamin C that’s also incredibly good for your skin, when both consumed through citrusy fruits and healthy vegetables, and applied to your skin with holistic, pure skincare products.

When included in a balanced diet, Vitamin C helps repair tissues in the body, it aids in the reformation of collagen, it strengthens your immune system and helps your body absorb necessary iron! It’s a rockstar of a vitamin. But how does Vitamin C benefit skin when applied topically?

That’s a great question! And here are three great answers to help you understand its awesomeness!

  • Vitamin C fights free radicals that are created in the skin due to oxidative stress — in other words, sun damage. Vitamin C cannot replace sun protection or SPF, but it does help repair the damage created by the sun, and reduce the unsightly appearance that the damage reveals.
  • Vitamin C encourages collagen production. This mighty vitamin creates collagen molecules, which explains why it’s often a key ingredient in some amazing anti-aging skincare on the market — including one of our customer-favorites, Vita-C Repair Cream! Collagen can be repaired and boosted in other ways, like actual collagen creams and serums or even in drinkable powders, but natural Vitamin C encourages collagen production even better than those options.
  • Vitamin C corrects brown spots. It corrects other discolorations and unevenness in skin, often times, caused by the sun. It allows the damaged skin to heal itself and acts as an anti-inflammatory, making it a great solution for those with acne or rosacea.

Our Vita C Repair Cream hydrates and moisturizes and includes Vitamin C, the only antioxidant proven to increase collagen production. Basically, it’s like a superstar of a moisturizer and is a clean, organic cream that will deliver the Vitamin C that your skin is craving.
